How Does it Work?

Our First Climbing Competition! Let’s break it down. Climbing indoor/outdoors? It’s all good. First start by registering and paying the entry fee below. Early registration (September 1-30) guarantees a Vert for Vets shirt and other comp goodies shipped right to you. Choose your 24-hour window on either November 8 or 9 - Veterans Day Weekend, then get to climbing and track your vertical feet!

Climbing in a gym? Ask one of the employees at the gym what the height of the walls are and track your laps!. Climbing outdoors? Rad. Keep track of your route names and your feet climbed! After your 24-hour timeframe, rest up and submit your score card to vertforvets@cruxwilderness.org by November 10th at 7:00 AM PST- we’ll take it from there!

Top three climbers with the most vertical feet climbed will take home prizes from Black Diamond, Rocky Talkie, and more!

Interested in Fundraising?

Fundraising for the competition isn’t mandatory, but will it be fun to ask Aunt Linda to pledge 10 cents, 20 cents, $1.00 (wild - but cool) per foot climbed? We think so! Yes, of course there’s always the option of just making a donation directly to our website, but we thought this might make things more interesting!

How it will work? Start by checking the “interested in fundraising” box on the registration form and we will get you additional details! No need to commit now - we can get you the information and you can decide if you want to fundraise later!

Top three fundraisers will take home prizes from Black Diamond, Rocky Talkie, and more!

Rules

You have 24-hours timeframe between November 8 and November 9. We are going all HONOR SYSTEM here! We trust you to only report the routes and feet that you personally climbed. Keep track of your route names outdoors with the height of each climb - if you do a multiple pitch, same idea applies. Indoors, lists the height of the gym walls with how many laps you do. Once completed you have until November 10th at 7:00 AM PST to submit your score card to vertforvets@cruxwilderness.org.

We will do the math from there (aka our math guy will do the math). We will award top three prizes in two categories - for most vertical feet climbed and the most money raised! Winners can only collect a prize in one category!

Last rule. Look over and understand our disclaimer - THANKS ALL! ABSOLUTELY STOKED FOR OUR FIRST VERT FOR VETS CLIMBING COMPETITION!!
