This design features the yellow legged mountain frog- a species of which conservation work is being done in the Sierra Nevada. And the picturesque Mt. Whitney with the Crux design. These images were done using a linocut technique.

About the artists - Matthew Hernandez is a Chicago-born, California-based artist whose work primarily focuses on linoleum block printing, with a background in photography and painting. Matthew’s style emphasizes bold lines and strong shapes, influenced by Chicago's architecture, trains, cartoons, and graffiti.

After a few years of art school, Matthew served six years in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, stationed in San Diego and Hawaii. Since then, he’s been earning a B.S. in Cognitive Science with a specialization in Neuroscience at UC San Diego and will soon begin graduate school.
